About

I build systems people can trust.

At Microsoft, I've led the teams that tell Azure, and its customers, whether things are healthy. I bring the same discipline to small, useful AI apps of my own.

I'm an engineering leader in the Seattle area. As Partner Group Engineering Manager for AIOps Health and Geneva Health & Synthetics, part of Microsoft's AIOps Brain organization, I've owned the full path from evaluating metric data at scale, to detecting health anomalies and alerting customers, to showing resource health in Azure Monitor and Azure Resource Health.

Highlights

  • 462 billion health evaluations a day across 823 million Azure resources.
  • 99.99% availability, with end-to-end alerts delivered in under three minutes.
  • Founded IcM, Microsoft's automated incident management system and still the company's primary incident service.
  • Took Azure AD Graph from 99.9% to 99.99% by measuring what customers actually experienced.
  • Earlier, shipped core Windows features in Group Policy and Windows Update.

What I'm building

I'm building small, practical apps that use AI to make everyday things easier, starting with TrailPulse. I write here about what I build, including the architecture, the mistakes and the parts that were harder than they looked.
